
During selection, the following 4 core key technical parameters are mainly referenced:
The robot's arm span and strokes (including vertical, horizontal, and extraction strokes) must strictly match the injection molding machine's safety door dimensions and mold opening distance, ensuring sufficient part extraction space without colliding with the safety door.
When calculating the load, the robot must not only bear the weight of the finished product itself, but also add the overall total weight of the end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and the IML in-mold labeling system (if any).
For thin-wall high-speed injection molding (e.g., fast food boxes, etc.), a fully servo-driven high-speed/ultra-high-speed robot must be selected to ensure extraction time is controlled within 1 second, avoiding extension of the overall machine cycle.
For ordinary part extraction, a 3-axis/5-axis single-arm or dual-arm servo robot is sufficient; if complex actions such as post-process gate trimming, insert placement, or nut insertion are required, a multi-joint industrial robot must be selected.
