When browsing supermarkets or selecting products, want to know if the packaging uses in-mold labeling? Just a simple 2-step method (touch and scratch) can quickly and accurately determine:
01. Touch: Feel for Protrusions at Edges Smooth to the Touch
Gently touch the label edge with your fingers:
• In-Mold Labeling: Completely no "step feeling"—the label and container surface are seamlessly integrated, and you may even be unable to feel the existence of the label.
• Traditional Labeling: You can clearly feel the connecting gap between the label and the container, and some may also have a slight protrusion feeling.
02. Scratch: Test If the Label Peels Easily Firm & Scratch-Resistant
Gently scratch the label surface with a fingernail or key:
• In-Mold Labeling: The pattern will not fade, and label edges will never peel or flake—extremely strong protection.
• Traditional Labeling: If the scratching force is slightly greater, pattern surface peeling or label curling and damage can easily occur.
Nowadays, this seemingly "invisible" process not only greatly improves the practicality and premium appearance of packaging, but also deeply reflects the development direction of "efficiency, environmental protection, and safety" in the modern packaging industry.
