Why Can In-Mold Labels Integrate with Bucket Bodies in One Molding?

A

The in-mold labeling process subverts the traditional labeling logic, adopting the method of "bucket and label coexist, synchronous molding". The label is not applied afterwards, but directly fuses with the plastic into an integrated whole during the bucket body manufacturing process. No glue adhesion, no surface layer attachment—fundamentally eliminating the problems of peeling, edge curling, and fading.

Achieving perfect integrated molding mainly relies on strict control of the following 3 core process links:

1. Carefully Select Dedicated Film Materials, Build a Solid Foundation for Fusion                    Same Material Source

Labels use exclusively customized PP/PE grade high-temperature resistant composite films (containing a three-layer structure of wear-resistant protective layer, high-definition printing layer, and hot-melt adhesive layer), capable of withstanding high-temperature injection molding environments above 180°C. Possessing super strong tensile and deformation resistance, printing colors are firm and do not bleed, and the material is the same source as the bucket body, laying a solid foundation for subsequent fusion.

2. Precise Positioning into the Mold, Control Every Detail                    Tolerance ≤0.1mm

The fully automatic high-precision robotic arm adsorbs the label on the inner wall of the mold according to the standard of "printing side facing inward, adhesive layer facing outward." SWITEK's micron-level positioning system strictly controls the label positioning tolerance within 0.1mm, ensuring the pattern is centered and regular without offset or skew, and mass production still maintains exquisite uniformity.

3. High-Temperature High-Pressure Fusion, Achieving Molecular-Level Integration (Core Step)                    Molecular-Level Mutual Fusion

After the mold is closed, high-temperature molten plastic is injected into the cavity at high speed. Under the high-temperature high-pressure environment, the hot-melt adhesive layer on the inner layer of the label melts instantly, undergoing sufficient molecular-level mutual fusion with the plastic raw material. After cooling and setting, the label and bucket body are completely fused and locked—no gaps, no bubbles—and the finished product comes out immediately upon mold opening, truly achieving the "integration of bucket and label into one."

Process Conclusion: Relying on dedicated same-source film materials, micron-level high-precision labeling automation equipment, and high-temperature high-pressure molecular mutual fusion at the moment of injection molding, in-mold labeling (IML) achieves thorough integrated molding of label and container.
